Job Description:
Achievement House Charter School is a cyber charter school searching for a highly qualified Pennsylvania certified Special Education teacher. Dual certification in a high school core content subject area is strongly preferred. Commitment to obtain second certification will be a condition of employment. Knowledge of state and federal regulations, legal issues and procedures related to provision of special services in charter schools; knowledge or aptitude of computer/technology; knowledge and experience related to inclusion; excellent written communication and phone skills are necessary. Responsibilities include writing and developing IEP's, providing support to identified students via the computer and phone, and implementing a co-teaching model. The candidate will work collaboratively with staff to develop accommodations and modifications to curriculum; communicate with parents on a regular basis; and carry out other assignments as designated by the special education director.
