Job Description:
Devereux Kanner Center is located in south-central Chester County (30 miles from Philadelphia and 35 miles from Lancaster and/or Reading). The Kanner Center provides treatment services to children, adolescents and young adults with intellectual disabilities, (ID), developmental disabilities (DD), autism spectrum disorders, and adolescents with sexually abusive behaviors. Many of the individuals we serve are dually diagnosed with intellectual disabilities/developmental disabilities and concurrent mental health concerns. Campus-based and community-based residential and educational services are part of the array of services.
Occupational therapist facilitates the development and rehabilitation of students with mental, emotional and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.
Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB), licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required and bachelor's degree required. Six to nine months of related field experience required; one year preferred. Valid driver's license must be maintained.
