Job Description:
The Preparatory Charter High School is a tuition-free, college preparatory schooling option for Philadelphia students in grades nine through twelve. Our mission is to promote a nurturing and challenging atmosphere where students will achieve high academic standards and develop essential career skills. We offer full support for English Language Learners,(ELL/ESL) and special education populations. Career Development teachers supervise a group of students at a specified site such as City Hall, University of Penn Hospital, or a local elementary school. This exceptional opportunity gives our students a chance to obtain work skills in a working environment.

  • Experience supervising and teaching successfully in an urban setting.

  • Experience working in diverse settings and/or commitment to improving one’s own cultural competence.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Commit to ongoing professional development in the spirit of continuous improvement
  • Develop rigorous and appropriate lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.
  • Work closely with On-Site employers.
  • Engage families in their children’s education by building relationships and maintaining regular communication
Education and Experience:                 
  • Commitment to and experience working with underserved communities
  • Determination to drive student achievement and set high expectations for all students
  • Demonstrated expertise in subject area
  • Current Clearances required
