Job Description:
The New Story Schools are currently hiring a Full-Time Speech-Language Therapist Supervisor to provide services to children as part of the Multi-disciplinary team. The Speech Therapist Supervisor will promote the development of communication skills through assessment, program planning and direct service. In addition, the Speech Therapist Supervisor will provide clinical direction, training, and oversight of speech therapy services in our six school locations throughout Central PA.
  • Plan, implement, and adapt speech-language therapy activities to meet student needs and encourage progress.
  • Plan, administer, and interpret appropriate testing to gather data for the development and/or revision of the IEP.
  • Develop and implement individualized IEP goals and objectives aiming to promote communication skills, including expressive language, the ability of verbal expression, receptive language, and augmentative communication, when appropriate.
  • Monitor and revise IEP goals and objectives as needed and communicate with all team members involved to ensure the effectiveness of services provided.
  • Adhere to deadlines for submission of IEP goals/objectives, Progress Reports, and Re-evaluation reports.
  • Complete weekly reports and provide this information to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the student’s multidisciplinary team, other related service professionals, school district personnel, outside service providers, and the student’s family to design and implement appropriate services.
  • Complete quarterly Progress Reports and provide information to parents/guardians and school districts.
  • Provide clinical guidance and clinical consultation.
  • Provide guidance and direction on IEP goal development.
  • Provide observation and review of services performed, as directed.
  • Demonstrate appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques, as well as knowledge of student privileges and responsibilities.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in related field
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or current PA licensure as Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Two years experience providing speech-language therapy service
