Job Description:
  • Certification required: Supervisor of Special Education and Supervisor of Pupil Services (K-12); or Principal (K-12); or Superintendent Letter of Eligibility
  • Special education supervision experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
The community-oriented, student-focused, and inclusive School District of Haverford Township is seeking an intuitive, quick thinking, resourceful problem solver, to assess, troubleshoot, manage multiple tasks, build capacity among supervisors and staff to enable the district to further enhance the educational experience for all students.  This is a full-time 12-month position and the successful candidate will begin on or about 7/1/2019.
The successful candidate shall:
  • assume responsibility for the planning, development, coordination, and management of all special education programs, services, budgets, and personnel and shall ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing the delivery of services to students with disabilities
  • be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the district’s Special Education programs and serving as liaison with appropriate public and private agencies
  • analyze performance and achievement measures to develop professional development and appropriate supports for pupil services and special education staff in consultation with the curriculum department
  • collaborate with principals and school staff in seeking appropriate programs to support students
  • supervise pupil services and special education staff in seeking to support school principals and other school personnel in working with students who experience learning, personal, social and/or emotional issues that prevent the attainment of academic success in the classroom settings
  • support the monitoring of academic milestones such as attendance/truancy, disciplinary actions, dropout rates, child abuse and neglect reporting, parental involvement, residency compliance, Section 504 issues and homelessness
  • collaborate with local law enforcement and comply with local and state safety reporting requirements
  • act as the District Compliance Officer
