Qualifications:
1. Masters degree with a major in educational leadership, educational supervision, or a related field;
doctorate preferred.
2. Valid and current PA Certification as an Elementary Principal;
3. Five (5) or more years experience in public education, including secondary or elementary school
instruction.
4. Knowledge of and flexibility in the use of computers and software programs typically used in
school administration.
5. Demonstrated success in turning around low performing schools and/or underperforming students.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of a standards-based curriculum required in the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania.
7. Experience in Administration preferred.
8. Satisfactory work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).

Summary
Assists in directing and coordinating educational and administrative activities, consistent with the
charge of improving student achievement by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assists in establishing clear approaches to measuring student growth and measures it by
individual student with the intention of ensuring that every student has an opportunity to go to
college or post-secondary schooling.
2. Implements a rigorous, transparent, and fair evaluation system for the professional staff that (a)
differentiates effectiveness using multiple rating categories that take into account data on
student growth as a significant factor., and (b) provides timely and constructive feedback
3. Uses professional staff evaluations, at a minimum, to inform decisions regarding developing
the professional staff, including providing relevant coaching, induction support, and/or
professional development.
4. Uses data-driven decision making to improve school and student outcomes and will ensure that all education stakeholders, especially teachers, have timely access to actionable information.
5. Assists in implementing a comprehensive instructional improvement system that includes the expansion and integration of real-time school and district data into the Standards Aligned Systems (SAS) online tool (e.g., diagnostic assessments, voluntary model curriculum) with an interface that provides easy-to-access and interpret information, and customized (e.g., teacher, parent) password-protected feature and additional applications and tools.
6. Reviews the quarterly early warning system report to assess the effectiveness of interventions in helping at-risk students and to devise new action plans to for newly identified and previously identified at-risk student
7. Works collaboratively with building administrators and teachers in establishing safety net programs that will maximize opportunity for students to meet grade level expectations and State and ASD standards.
8. Assists in conducting a summer staff data review meeting; quarterly staff data review meeting; bi-weekly leadership data team meeting and audits the weekly teacher collaborative planning meeting.
9. Reviews and discusses the school’s goals articulated in its school improvement plan and use data to assess whether the school is on track to achieving the goals.
10. Works collaboratively with the departments of Community Services, ESOL, and Instructional Support Services in the design, and implementation of projects and programs that will meet the specific needs of students with specialized needs.
11. Works closely with the Executive Director of Elementary/Secondary Schools to execute the focused goals set forth by the Superintendent.
12. Works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Planning and External Funding and the Director of Grants and Development to ensure that Title I funds, school improvement funds and other grants are linked to the strategic plan and the data reflecting student achievement needs such as the PSSA, 4Sight and other data that are used to inform continuous instructional improvement.
13. Provides supervision, leadership, and evaluation of each professional employee as designated by the Superintendent of Schools.
