Program: Vanguard Elementary School, Middle School, or High School

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30AM to 3:30PM
Start Date: June 24, 2019
End Date: August 2, 2019

Position Summary Are you passionate about working with students with special needs?  We would love to meet you!   
 
We are hiring teachers for The Vanguard School’s Extended School Year (ESY) program, a 5 week summer school program designed to help students with special needs maintain academic skills, behavioral goals, and have a little summer fun, too.
 
This is a GREAT opportunity for professionals already working in special education as well as newly graduated teachers to work with amazing students and gain new experiences in a supportive, collaborative environment. 
  
Available positions include (must be certified in Special Education):
  • Elementary School Teachers
  • Middle School Teachers 
  • High School Teachers
  • PE Teacher - certified in PE and/or Special Education
  • Art Teacher - certified in Art and/or Special Education
2019 ESY Dates:
  • Inservice training --- June 24 & 25
  • Safety Care training --- June 26 & 27
  • Program dates --- July 1 to August 2 
  • Work hours --- 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.
  • Current, valid Pennsylvania certification in Special Education N-12, PK-8, or 7-12 (or confirmation from your university that all requirements are completed and submitted to PDE).
  • Teaching experience in a special education classroom.
  • Ability to recognize the individuality and uniqueness of each student & treat him/her with respect & dignity.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative relationships with supervisors, co-workers, parents, and students.
