Job Description:
The Mansion Evening Campus is a diploma-granting program designed specifically for adult students who are eager to return to school. Our program is 18+ with no upper age limit, and our classes are held from Monday to Thursday evenings. We support our students by creating a safe learning environment for achievement guided by an inner sense of responsibility to students, families, the community and social development on a world scale.

One Bright Ray CHS: Mansion Evening is accepting resumes for a Fulltime Dean of Students for the current school year. Essential duties are as follows:

  • Serve as a liaison to the Re-Engagement Center at the School District of Philadelphia (SD) and other partner agencies to accept student referrals and refer students to more appropriate programs.
  • Meet with students to set appropriate academic and personal goals, paying careful attention to situational, dispositional, institutional, and educational barriers.
  • Plan and lead a new student orientation process that familiarizes attendees with academic and behavioral expectations and builds a supportive social network among students.
  • Assist students in obtaining critical documents from local, state, and federal agencies to ensure their timely enrollment in the program.
  • Assess students for substance use, physical and emotional functioning, barriers to academic performance, peer issues, and safety.
  • Provide case management services including, but not limited to, referrals to community resources, collaboration with other professionals, and individualized meetings.
  • Coordinate attendance monitoring procedures and interventions, including but not limited to Student Attendance Improvement Plans (SAIP) and informal student attendance meetings.
  • Assist students in developing their ability to advocate for their own needs and desires as they relate to continued school attendance.
Climate and Culture:
  • Utilize restorative practices and other techniques to mediate conflicts between students.
  • Coordinate with teachers and other staff to provide appropriate behavioral interventions for students who require in-class and out-of-class supports.
  • Coordinate student events and incentives, including but not limited to: black-tie formal, senior luncheon, graduation, giveaways and raffles, Zero Day, and honors ceremonies.
MSW or M.Ed in School Counseling

Monday-Thursday 12:30pm–8:30pm
