Purpose Statement
The position of Vice Principal was established for the purposes of providing support to overall school operations with specific responsibility for directing assigned school programs and services at a K-8 school; providing information and serving as a resource to others; supervising assigned staff; coordinating school activities and addressing issues, situations and/or problems that arise on campus or with enrolled students.

REQUIREMENTS:
A.   Educational Level: 
  • Masters degree in Education-related area
  • PA administrator certification 
B.   Experience:
  • Ideally, a minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience, plus 3 years related administrative experience
C.   Requisite Skills:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Skills in human relations, leadership and conflict management. Knowledge of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students. Demonstrated skills in the use of technology to enhance student learning.
E.   Clearances:
  • FBI Clearance 
  • Child Abuse Clearance
  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
  • Strong decision-making, analytical and organizational skills  
  • Advanced skill in dealing with students and staff with diverse needs at various levels  
  • Knowledge of varied instructional strategies, how to support the needs of diverse learners, delivery methods, assessment, and staff development techniques for improvement of instruction   
  • Knowledge of understanding of adolescent physical, emotional, and intellectual development  
  • Knowledge of effective behavior management techniques such as Positive Behavior Support (PBS) 
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people, including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds 
  • Ability to contribute to cultural diversity for educational enrichment  
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.all objectives of school's curriculum
  • Supports the Administration Team for the purpose of providing assistance with a variety of Administrative functions
The ideal VP has experience working with a school administrative team to manage administrative and educational components of elementary and/or middle level learning.The candidate will regularly interact with teachers, students, and members of the community. Creativity and collaboration skills needed when interacting with our Climate team and student discipline issues. Experience motivating students to turn negative behaviors into positive actions is valued. 
Vice Principal responsibilities include participation in hiring and evaluating staff and providing leadership in the areas of personnel, curriculum development, student programs and budgets - along with CEO, Principal, CAO and others. Responsibilities also include collaboration with school safety and student attendance efforts.
