Job Description:
Gemma Services is seeking a full time W.O.R.C. Coordinator for our private special education school, Martin Luther School, located in Plymouth Meeting PA.
Martin Luther School, provides a comprehensive program for students who need emotional support. Our school is designed to allow our students to confidently engage in personalized, purposeful learning, joyfully celebrate individual and collective success, and respectfully challenge self and others to grow. We use a holistic educational approach to address the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of children in kindergarten through eighth grade.
This position is responsible for working with students in a vocational setting by accommodating job tasks through individualized task analysis; adapting environments to promote student success; programming for the whole student with a perspective on the physical, perceptual, sensory, social and emotional needs of the student; coordinating work within the School, as well as with other divisions/departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the assigned function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.
The W.O.R.C. Coordinator is a ten-month per year position.
Responsibilities include:
  1. Facilitates and leads weekly 35-40 minute classes in the Work, Orientation and Readiness Center for all students.
  2. Facilitates the development and integration of pre employability skills in a school environment through direction instruction and individualized hands on work tasks.
  3. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications; establishing and maintaining professional networks and participating in professional organizations.
  4. Manages the WORC program by fielding incoming jobs and tasks to be completed by classes attending WORC and monitoring delivery in a timely manner.
  5. Completes performance evaluations on all 8th grade students and share information with team members.
  6. Provides PBIS Tier II support throughout the entire day with early morning students, students in the middle of the day and during activity period. On a monthly basis, the WORC program staff will provide support to 85-120 students in addition to the weekly classes.
  7. Creates and manages a responsible budget to meet the needs and demands of the WORC program.
  8. Offers Level 1 fieldwork opportunities for OT and OTA students as available.
Education/Training: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy and valid PA Occupational Therapy license.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' related experience normally required.
