Job Summary: Serve as the initial solutions oriented contact for the Transportation Department. Perform and facilitate office activities that ensure smooth and efficient operation of the office and the transportation program. Provide support to the Director of Transportation in a manner that is professional, diplomatic, and complies with confidentiality requirements.

Position Information:

  • Range 3, Starting Salary $19.83
  • 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, 8 hours/day, 261 days/year
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist parents with all forms of requests.
  • Provide immediate response to all bus accidents or incidents.
  • Arrange transportation for normal school bus scheduling to include but not limited to bus stop changes, student’s with disability codes, student placement changes, transfers, exceptions, shuttles, field trips, and after school programs.
  • Communicate all transportation scheduling changes to a variety of internal and external parties via letter, email, and/or phone calls.
  • Ensure that buses are running on time by auditing GPS and giving the appropriate feedback. If a bus is running more that fifteen minutes late, perform robocalls to parents and notify the appropriate school staff.
  • Develop and maintain a digital calendar that consists of all seventy plus facilities serviced daily. This calendar should include facility start and end dates, early dismissals, snow make up days, and holiday breaks. Confirm calendars monthly with all facility secretaries.
  • Develop and maintain a digital calendar for after school sport shuttles, music shuttles and after school activity shuttles.
  • Manage the daily van sign out process in software. Ensure that the auto insurance has driver’s license information. Communicate any van issues with the maintenance department.
  • Request bus videos and driver write-ups for incidents that occur on the bus. Communicate these issues with the school principals.
  • Complete routine office duties including maintenance of department records, compile reports, monitor assigned projects, sorting, filing, mailings, shredding, etc.
  • Assist in compiling data for state reporting. Monthly time and mileage sheets and student ridership from the bus company.

  • Five (5) years experience as an Administrative Professional or related work experience
  • Previous Transportation/Logistics dispatch experience.
