Elementary School Building Substitute Teacher

Job Overview: To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in Elementary School classrooms, ranging from K-8th grade, that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Responsibilities and Duties:

• Implement the lesson plan provided by the classroom teacher in his/her absence.
• Oversee students outside of the classroom including in the hallways and cafeteria.
• Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times.
• Implement all classroom procedures in the absence of the classroom teacher, such as, attendance, uniform violations, and lunch/breakfast distribution.
• Ensure classroom and work is kept clean and orderly.
• Compile a report for the teacher for when he/she returns.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or his/her designee.
• Communicate with parents/guardians.
• Collaborate with other colleagues.
• Assist with arrivals and dismissal of students.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
