Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and passionate Math Teacher to join our academic team for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate will bring a deep knowledge of mathematics, a student-centered approach, and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues across disciplines—including the arts.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach high school-level mathematics courses, which may include Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and/or Statistics, depending on school needs and teacher certification.
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with Pennsylvania Core Standards.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that promote problem-solving, critical thinking, and real-world applications.
- Utilize differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students on assessments and assignments.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and grades.
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues to support student success.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to support interdisciplinary projects and schoolwide initiatives.
- Participate in school-related activities including professional development, staff meetings, arts showcases, and parent engagement events.
- Maintain classroom expectations aligned with the school’s Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Restorative Practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Education with a concentration in mathematics required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Mathematics 7–12 or secondary education math (or ability to obtain emergency certification).
- Previous teaching experience preferred, but new teachers and recent graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to the mission of arts-based education and a diverse school community.
- Ability to foster a supportive, inclusive, and academically rigorous classroom.
- Experience working in a charter school or arts-focused environment.
- Familiarity with using data to drive instruction and improve student learning.
- Willingness to integrate technology and project-based learning into the classroom.
- Ability to work collaboratively with both academic and arts faculty.
