Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction, implement individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborate with general education and arts teachers to ensure all students with exceptionalities are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction, implement individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborate with general education and arts teachers to ensure all students with exceptionalities are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction to students in accordance with their IEP goals using evidence-based practices.
- Write and manage IEPs in compliance with Pennsylvania and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to implement accommodations and modifications.
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and service delivery.
- Support students in both push-in and pull-out settings, depending on need.
- Assist in implementing positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS).
- Contribute to the development of transition plans and ensure compliance with post-secondary goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and support the dignity and rights of all students.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training related to special education compliance, instructional strategies, and inclusive practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification (PK–12 or 7–12); dual certification in a content area is a plus.
- Working knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and PA Chapter 14 regulations.
- Experience writing and managing IEPs and working with students across a range of disabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to compliance deadlines.
- Collaborative spirit with a commitment to inclusive practices and differentiated instruction.
- Experience in an arts-based or charter school setting.
- Familiarity with online IEP systems (e.g., PowerSchool Special Programs, IEPWriter, etc.).
- Ability to support social-emotional learning and restorative practices.
- Enthusiasm for working in a creative and innovative educational environment.
