Title:  Director of Technology 
Location: Pennridge School District  
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent  
 
Terms of Employment: Act 93, 12-month position; competitive salary and benefits.  
The Opportunity 
Pennridge School District is seeking a visionary, hands-on Director of Technology to lead districtwide technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and support services that power teaching, learning, and operations. The Director will set the direction for instructional and administrative technology, modernizing systems, and deliver reliable, secure services to students, staff, and families. 
 
Key Responsibilities 

• Strategic leadership & planning: Develop and execute a multi-year technology vision aligned to district goals; maintain district technology policies, procedures, and security controls; steward a living strategic technology plan and disaster recovery plan.  

• Cybersecurity & data protection: Ensure robust controls (firewalls, switching, backups, storage, access management) and continuous improvement of cybersecurity posture.  

• Infrastructure & operations: Oversee network/server design and reliability; direct installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems, applications, classroom and enterprise technologies; manage inventory, surplus, and lifecycle.  

• Support services: Lead help desk/asset management and technician teams to deliver responsive service and clear SLAs; monitor department performance and user communication.  

• Budgeting & procurement: Build and manage the annual technology budget; set spending priorities; oversee vendor relations, RFPs, and cost-effective outsourcing; manage E-Rate strategy and filings.  

• Systems & software governance: Coordinate selection and implementation of district software (e.g., SIS, curriculum, finance); ensure data integrity and compliance.  

• Training & change management: Identify staff needs and provide targeted training; communicate technology initiatives and status to all stakeholders.  

• Partnerships & compliance: Collaborate with PDE, Bucks IU, and external partners; pursue grants/alternative funding; maintain required reporting and policies.  

Qualifications: 

• Master’s degree (or extensive equivalent experience) in IT/computer science or related field; leadership experience in a large organization, education environment preferred.  

• Client/server architectures; network routing/switching; server virtualization; software distribution; firewalls; SAN/storage; relational databases; converged data/voice/video; Windows/macOS/Linux environments; Active Directory/group policy.  

• Proven success leading complex implementations, supervising technical teams, and managing vendors/budgets; strong communication skills to translate vision and technical matters for varied audiences.  

• Experience with classroom technologies, security operations, analytics/reporting, and E-Rate program leadership.
