Position Overview
Vision Academy Charter School of Excellence is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Upper Elementary Teacher (Grades 5–6) to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. Teachers in this role may teach one or more core subjects including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, depending on grade-level team assignments.
The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, implement engaging instructional strategies, and support the academic and social-emotional development of upper elementary students.
Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
• Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student growth
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior
• Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture aligned with VACSE’s core values
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into daily instruction
• Participate in professional development and contribute to the school community

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Certification
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Elementary Education (PK–4) or Middle Level (4–8), or ability to obtain certification
Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices and classroom management

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Compensation & Benefits
Starting Salary: $66,000 + based on experience and credentials according to the VACSE salary scale.
Continued Education Incentives

• $3,000 for obtaining a Master’s Degree in a related field
• $2,000 for Bachelor’s Degree + 15 Graduate Credit Hours
• $4,000 for Master’s Degree + 30 Graduate Credit Hours
• $3,000 annually for continuing education

Longevity Pay: $1,200 for every three years of service
Performance-Based Bonuses: Up to $7,500 for teaching excellence

Retirement Plan: 403(b) with 5% school matching
