Full-Time, 10-Month Position
In response to increased enrollment of identified students, Franklin Towne Charter High School is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and student-centered Special Education Teacher for a full-time, 10-month position beginning in late August and ending in early June.
This position is ideal for an educator committed to implementing specially designed instruction, supporting students with diverse learning needs, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure access and success for all learners.

Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher serves as a key collaborator within the classroom, supporting students in general education inclusion settings and helping to ensure that all learners have access to meaningful, appropriately designed instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students in inclusion classrooms, including small-group and individualized instruction as needed
- Implement and support specially designed instruction (SDI) in alignment with students’ IEPs
- Review and stay informed on IEP updates to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are in place
- Collaborate regularly with general education teachers to adapt lessons, assessments, and instructional materials
- Assist in modifying assignments and assessments to meet diverse learning needs
- Communicate and partner with case managers and the Special Education team regarding student progress and needs
- Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence
- Assist with testing accommodations and other support services as outlined in student IEPs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Special Education Coordinator
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Certification:
Applicants should be Pennsylvania certified in one of the following areas:
- Special Education PK-12
- Special Education 7-12
- Special Education N-12
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Instructional Certification in respective grade level, and endorsements in respective subject area, OR
- Presentation of an original, signed letter from the Certification Officer of an accredited college or university verifying current enrollment in an approved certification program in order to be eligible for an Emergency Permit.
Clearances:
- All required clearances, physical exam, and Act 168 employment history review
Position Highlights

- Workday: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
