Job Description:
This position is a contracted, 187-day, permanent Elementary Special Education position effective for the 2026-2027 school year.
Effective Date- start of the 2026-2027 school year
Benefits & Salary- according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Requirements- PA certifications accepted for this position include: Special Education PK-8, or Special Education PK-12, or Special Education N-12, or Mentally and/or Physically Handicapped K-12
Preferred Experience- Preferred experience in planning instruction and/or adaptation of an educational program to enable students to benefit from educational experiences in an elementary learning support classroom. Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and knowledge in positive behavioral support strategies and experience holding RR and IEP meetings.
Additional details- Assist in all aspects of the curriculum cycle from development, implementation and evaluation; utilization of specialized and adaptive teaching methods and materials; evaluate academic and social growth of students; prepare and maintain appropriate educational records and adherence to legal mandates; compassionate educator who encourages active student participation in the learning process.
District does honor previous public-school experience for salary purposes.
